So, my friend and I have been planning to go to a Brand New concert here in GA (they never come here, ever) for months now. And yesterday, the day before the concert, she tells me she hasn't bought the tickets. My bank account has been mysteriously closed, so I couldn't buy a ticket online. And today, the day of the concert, she says she managed to buy ONE ticket at about 4x the original price. So I'm not going to my favorite band's concert that I've been looking forward to since summertime.
Someone console me please? ;~;

Worry not, my friend, for this is why God made man, who in turn made Youtube.

Good friends keep up with their promises. REALLY good friends sacrifice that ticket for you. Or something like that.
You deserve a hug, and maybe answers about that bank account closing. Seriously, what the heck is with that?! :/
I hope you raise hell about that if the reasoning was totally arbitrary and pointless.

@dan: YouTube is not the same. D:
@ice: Haha, thanks. My friend was really upset, and she realized that it was her own nonsensical procrastination that caused it. But yeah, I was still a bit shocked when she went ahead and bought a ticket for herself anyway... I mean, I'm not saying I'd rather neither of us go, but still. I counted on her. She knew this was my first concert and meant a lot to me, considering it was my favorite band. I dunno. I'm not mad, per se; just really, REALLY disappointed. If she had just bought them when she said she did...
As far as the bank account issue goes, I have absolutely no idea. The only reason why I have one is because I went to Europe last summer and needed a Visa. I haven't used it since then, and suddenly they're calling me and telling me I owe them $88? It's ridiculous. I hate money.

Consolation: *hug* I really wish I could say "I know how you feel" but a) that line's kinda cliche and never seems to mean much to the person it's being said to and b) I've never even almost been to a concert, so I wouldn't no exactly how you feel. As IC said, you should probably find out why your account was closed. I say yell at a teller or something. It'll blow off steam AND you'll get some answers. Keep in mind, she not only was able to only buy one ticket, but it was four times the original price. That's not cheap. So she put a lot of money into that one ticket... think of it from her perspective. Giving the ticket to a friend would be a nice thing to do, but maybe she was looking forward to the concert just as much? I dunno, I'd try looking at it from other perspectives before getting mad at people. Cheer up: Your name might not be Murray, but this song is pretty funny regardless

Oh, no, I didn't want her to give me the ticket. And I know she would have only paid that much if she really wanted to see it, too. But the fact that stung was that I was under the impression for months that she already had both of our tickets and that I would be there right now. But last minute she tells this to me, after I've done all my work in advance, planned everything out (like transportation), and such. :/ And like I said before, I'm not mad. Just disappointed. I just told her to get me a t-shirt or something lol.

Well, if it's any consolation, you can tell her it had better be the MOST AWESUM BAND T-SHIRT EVAR or else.

I'll tell her I want every band member's signature and some portion of their DNA. Not really. That's creepy and gross.
I think I should tell her to sneak backstage with her ninja self and appeal to Brand New with my touching story, and then they should just come visit me personally and stuff. x)

OH AND BY THE WAY...
I used to live in Georgia! I miss the winters most of all. It's all COLD, WET, SNOWY, and DOWNRIGHT MESSY here in Maryland.
I still have a bit of a Southern accent. My best friend sometimes makes fun of me for it. I just drawl out certain words. Like "draaawl", and "draaaaw", and "maaaall", "muuuuhd", and my favorite: "neh-faaairiouus~"
I'm guilty of saying "y'all", as well. and "ain't", once in a blue moon.
.... moooon~

Musical Theatre! That's where!
In my musical theatre class it's the lyrics to one of the songs we're singing in an ensemble number...
And someone said Duluth, so it reminded me of the song. INSTANTLY!!!
