Scary stuff. My first thought went out to you Del! I hope things are fairing okay. The photos and news reports are scary. I'm seeing water and fire all over the place.

Sven, you need to let us know you're okay! I'm worried.

I've spoken to him briefly on Facebook, and he says he's okay. I'd be freaked out, though.

I saw his status saying all his stuff fell down early this morning and then I got home and started hearing about all the terrible stuff and then thought "Del's stuff falling down seems really insignificant now..." XD
Thats great that hes alright though.

Yes, I'm fine, and yes, all my shit falling down was insignificant. At the time I had no idea what was happening in other parts of the country. I'm about 150-200 miles from the epicenter, but we still felt about a 5 to 7 magnitude earthquake here. I just can't believe how this has shut down Japan. I haven't really gone out yet, but I can only imagine from the news.
I'm fine though, so there's no need to worry for now. In a way, we 'dodged' this one. If the earthquake had happened on the mainland versus in the ocean, it probably would have destroyed Japan. D:
And me along with it! ._________.

Does this development in any way affect your studies there? Are they thinking about sending you home or anything?

Not that I've heard. I doubt they would do that unless we were in a danger zone. I can't imagine that this will happen again for a while, so I should be safe for the remainder of my time here.
But who knows. x)

Up here at University of Washington, I guess we can't locate like, 11 of our students. They have no cell service or internet or anything, or worse (we have no idea). Hopefully none were swept up in that monster tsunami. And I've heard there are some aftershocks have already been hitting too. Can you feel any of those?

Yes, I feel them every few hours. Maybe three to five times a day? Give or take a few...
I just hope there isn't another earthquake around the corner and that there isn't a nuclear explosion and/or radiation poisoning from this power plant... It's pretty far from me, so I don't think I would be hit by it immediately if it did. I just don't want anything else to happen.
The news is depressing. I hate thinking about all the destruction up north.

It's very sad. It really makes you realize how vulnerable we are when it comes to the earth.

Unfortunately, it seems my study abroad will be ending and I'll be returning to California for my university's spring quarter. My school is threatening to take away my student loans if I stay. I'll appeal to my chancellor at school, but I doubt it will change anything. I'll be leaving for America on Tuesday. Needless to say, this huge life change has affected me greatly. Having to say goodbye to many people four and a half months earlier than expected has been... unreal. I'll leave it at that. I am stressed and saddened at the moment, and I'll be busy trying to get back to Japan. If not, I'll be busy re-adjusting to life in America... At this moment, I do not believe I'll be starting the last dragon RP any time soon. I hope you're all able to be patient while I rebuild my life one way or another. Just keep me and the people of Japan in your prayers.
