Can't believe we don't have a thread for this... I guess just name a few books, stuff you've read recently and any books that are close to your heart for whatever reason. I've read the first two books in the Hannibal Lecter series (Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs), though I haven't started reading Hannibal or Hannibal Rising yet. Girl, Interrupted is an awesome book and I love it. So much better than the movie. I could go on and on about how the script writer showed Susanna Kaysen no respect by changing the story as much as he did (it is about her life, after all) just to make it dramatic... Lolita and The Little Prince are also really good books. Books I'm partway through (and love so far) include: Full Frontal Feminism, Nightlight, The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance, and Man's Search for Meaning (although the last one is for a class, which is why I haven't finished the others...). Also, I read THIS bit about the book and now I want to read the book. Just for that part. Like when I read that part, I started squeeing. Something is wrong with me. -.- Anyway, yeah... any interesting books you've read lately? What about good books you haven't read in a while? I'm always looking for suggestions, even though the last thing I need is more books to read.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
I never realized how much it took for me to actually enjoy a book... Hmm... I thought this list would be longer haha.

Love The Things They Carried. Read it in AP English last year.
Harry Potter is good but I kind of stopped liking it suddenly after the 7th book, Harry Potter and the Extended Camping Trip. :/
Heard of The Perks of Being a Wallflower... never read it and I have no clue what it's actually about...

Yeeeee!
I love Wuthering Heights!
And I'm about to embark into Les Miserables! I'm pretty excited for it! I've read a lot about it, so I suppose it's finally time I read it... though I'll be so preoccupied that I probably won't get to it until summer. I used to read for pleasure so often throughout high school.... now it's a very low priority.
RPing is a higher priority for me now haha.
Other than that, I love The Grapes of Wrath! I hated it the first time, but I loved it the second time <3
Aaaaaand Fahrenheit 451 was lovely. But not one of my favorite favorites...
And have you guys ever read the novel of The Last Unicorn? It's a pretty amazing boooooook. I loved it.
I'm in the beginning of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! Haha, sometimes I forget it's a spoof book and am surprised when a zombie horde shows up and eats somebody's brains! They basically added zombie inserts to the book, so it's basically the same, just more badass.
I think you would really like that one, Turk.
And I can't think of anything else at the moment!

Fahrenheit 451 was great... read it in Freshman year and did a parody of it (titled The Adventures of Montag Guy and Faber Dude). Oh my early sense of humor... (if you could call it that xD) Clarisse has a tendency to appear, rant, and disappear, Montag calls the Suicide Hotline before 911 (I don't think I knew what Suicide Hotline was back then, but it put him on hold so it doesn't matter), Faber lives in a cardboard box, and Granger is part of the HHH (homeless hobo hippies).
ANYWAY Ooh yeah I want to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies... I mean I love Pride and Prejudice... and I love zombie action sequences... two and two, right?
According to my friend (who has actually read Snow Crash, the book I linked to in my first post), the main character in Snow Crash rides a motorcycle with a hydrogen bomb in the sidecar that is set to go off when he dies. Even though he said that the part I mentioned is a smaller part of the book, that scene is what made me want to read it. Dentata, hee. This is unhealthy... >.<

We had a 1 1/2 hour power outage just now! Meaning I got to get back to reading Full Frontal Feminism. Jessica Valenti (the woman who wrote it) has an amazing sense of humor, and I highly recommend it for anyone who is even the eensiest bit interested in feminism.
