Okay, so I'm in a bit of an odd situation. I normally wouldn't run around telling people this but I want an objective point of view on the matter. I've known this guy for three weeks and we get along really well. We know each other surprisingly well and have opened up a lot considering the short time we've known each other. Like, we've hung out nearly every day since we met, often having conversations from dinner till 12 at night.
Anyway, today we were talking and he said that last time he got off the phone with me, he came really close to saying "I love you". That combined with the fact that his best friend was convinced that he flirts with me a lot drove him to tell me this and admit that he isn't sure if he has feelings for me or not. However, he said he's ultimately giving me the choice: we could go on a couple of dates and see or just stay friends.
The thing is, although we get along really well, he's not really my type and there are reasons why I believe that it wouldn't work (he's a really passionate Christian, plus different perspectives on life), and that eventually one of these reasons would get in the way somehow and force it to end. Basically, he's a good friend, but I'm not sure if he should be a boyfriend.
I dunno. I mainly just wanted to get this off of my chest to someone who doesn't know him, but I also want opinions. Not just on what to do, but because I always thought that the reason to get into a relationship with someone is if you see it going somewhere, since relationships are essentially meant to lead to marriage. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but ehh... >.<
Also, eerie how this is just in time for Valentine's Day. -.-
