It's bad enough that I call Gene (and any other beings like himself) "Splicers", anyways. It gets mildly confusing. Anyways, I'm pretty much dead-set on Mephis, since I want a little more method to my madness, here. I'm just not sure which aspect of him I want to use, since he's rather intellectually gifted, and enjoys bouncing from one specialty to another... IN EXTREMES. I'd love for him to be a rather... *cough* interesting doctor with questionable methods mixed with, what else? Crazy. He likes experimenting... on, um, stuff (PEOPLE!). Hilariously enough, the dubbed voice for Lloyd Asplund (from Code Geass) sounds exactly as I imagine him to sound... Note that Mephis is a self-proclaimed genius, although he also may be perfectly correct in this assumption. He also has an ego, and can be a greedy little git. In other words: FUN! *cackles* Sounds like Dr. Steinman.

So, everyone in Rapture was the best of the best when they came to the city? The apex predator, if you will, of their profession?

Okay, so downloading the Bioshock demo for PS3. Gonna play that in lieu of the game. Don't think I'll be able to get the game... or at least, not right now anyway... :/
Ah well. Least I'll be able to get a feel for it, right?

So, everyone in Rapture was the best of the best when they came to the city? The apex predator, if you will, of their profession? Yup, best of the best brought down to Rapture by Mr. Andrew Ryan himself to create a utopia with no limits on art or science, no laws, just the free flow of ideas and inventions. But even in a city with the best and brightest, someones gotta scrub the toilets

HAHAHAHAHA. A PROFESSIONAL TOILET SCRUBBER.
The fecal artist? Finally, they have the freedom to spread the majesty of man's biological waste everywhere they go? While scrubbing toilets on the side?!
I'M IN.

Well due to the stupid mother f*cking snow, I was unable to travel up to Boston for the Bioshock event. So, I should have my bios up by today.
EDIT: Here we go... Just post up your bios where ever and I'll link to them in the first post.
Name: Jon "Blade" Gibson II Age: 23 Height: 5'8" Country of Origin: USA Occupation: Businessman History: Jon got into a bad crowd in his teen years. Among other things he was a smuggler of various goods and narcotics. He became very skilled with various weapons, but his skill with a knife, whether used to intimidate or inflict pain, earned him the nick name Blade, which he eargerly accepted.
When he was seventeen he started working at a bakery front in New York City for the mob. It wasn't long before he was running the shop and keeping the cops away from their behind the scenes operation.
Knowing how loyal he was, the don of the local mafia started having Blade work closely with his affairs. When the person running the ring of local fronts was killed, Blade stepped up and made more money than ever before.
Now, at 23, Jon Gibson is seen by many in the New York area as a very respected businessman. No one knows about his other life as the crime lord Blade... Personality: Blade is a ruthless, cunning, coniving person, mostly due to his years with the mafia. He will do anything in order to get his way, no matter what the cost. Reason for going to Rapture: It was promised that in Rapture Blade could make more money in a year than he could in ten topside. His greed taking over, Blade quickly made for the nearest bathysphere...
Name: Edward Cylanle Age: 42 Height: 6'1" Occupation: Scientist Country of Origin: England History: Edward showed plenty of talent in science at a young age. He always had an interest in it and knew that one day he would be a great scientist.
Edward went to the best school in England where he graduated top of his class and finally became a scientist. After a year of working Edward found the scientific breakthrough that had eluded so many for years.
Even though he had finally achieved his dream, Edward wanted more. He wanted to know much more about things that he couldn't. The knowledge he saught was deemed "immoral" and "wrong". And then it happened. In 1946, Edward was approached by a man named Andrew Ryan.
Ryan told Edward that he had constructed a city underneath the ocean where he could be free to conduct any sort of science experiment he wanted without anyone interfering. This is exactly what Edward wanted to hear. As such, on November 5, 1946, Edward boarded a bathysphere and headed down to Rapture... Personality: Edward is very inquisitive and highly intelligent. He's not the type of person to think about money, he just wants to answer any question he has, and he has a lot of them. Reason for going to Rapture: Ryan appealed exactly to what Edward was looking for, a way to get the answers he saught without being labelled a monster or being locked away.

Finished the demo. I really want to get the game now... although without a license, I'm gonna have to get my friend to buy it for me. She's done it in the past, so I know she won't mind. But yeah. Have an idea for a character, too. Still in the process of revising and all that, but here's what I have so far: Not sure about a name (either Elle Burton or Page Sullivan) but she'd be about 30. She's a crazed artist, to put it simply. Her style of art was realistic and grotesque. Although her media ranged from photography to drawings, she is known for her paintings, which often contained substances that she had concocted, which weren't paint or anything similar, but dried on the canvas in interesting shades, patterns, and textures. Many people considered her style tabboo, especially considering how radically different it was from the abstract art of the time. She was also a single mother, albeit not a very good one. She neglected her daughter in favor of her art, and because of this was declared unfit to be a mother. Her daughter was then taken away. I think I'm going to have it so that her daughter was turned into a Little Sister (I'm not sure, I really like the idea and I know someone mentioned something similar earlier). Anyway, after her daughter was taken away, this crazy lady's art got darker and more grotesque, ranging from brutal and angry to just plain depressing. Fewer and fewer people bought her work and there was a lot of gossip as to what the mysterious substances in her art were. Andrew Ryan, who saw her as simply ahead of her time, told her about Rapture and promised that people there would appreciate her genius and buy her work. Thoughts? Ideas?

See that, Bioshock is infectious I like it. Youve really gotten the idea of the type of person Ryan saught. About her daughter though. If she was taken away before your character went to Rapture there would be no way to make her a Little Sister, which Im sure you knew. However, theres no real law enforcement in Rapture to take her away. She could possibly run away and be taken to Fontaine's Little Sister Orphanage where she gets turned into a Little Sister though. That would work.

I know a Paige Sullivan haha.
And another lady with her daughter stolen? :< Now I feel unoriginal. I was second-guessing my character anyway.

Well see, my character's daughter wasn't actually stolen. She was unfit to be a parent. And to CO: My idea was that when her daughter was taken away and put into an orphanage. Then Fontaine adopted her from the orphanage on the surface and brought her down into Rapture to turn her into a Little Sister. Since Fontaine eventually resorted to kidnapping young girls, I could see him resorting to adopting surface girls first... although if that doesn't work, yeah I'll have her run away. And hee, thanks. I've gotten into a crazy-character-creating mood lately, which you may have noticed by my posts in the Freewrite board. And for the Page Sullivan thing... haha I just kinda recycle names from old characters... Page Sullivan was a character on an old site who went crazy when her boyfriend died... It was a dystopian RP... a really good one too before it spontaneously combusted. Elle Burton (whose real name is Priscilla, but she hates it) was my grotesque realism artist from the same site.
